(92) The second chapter in the "Celestial trilogy," Dragon Quest V loosely continued the storyline of its predecessor.

Enix of America, while still up and running in the U.S., cancelled the American release of Dragon Warrior V. In Enix quarterly newsletter, Enix of America employee Robert Gerald stated the reason behind this decision was due to "unexpected bugs." To the disappointment of fans, they didnt want to release what they thought would be a bug-ridden game.

 

 

DRAGON QUEST VI

Enix of America, after bypassing Dragon Quest V, worked for a considerable time on Dragon Quest VI, which they planned to release in the U.S. as Dragon Warrior V. The last release date the Enix newsletter gave was "Christmas 95 or early 96," but the subsequent collapse of Enix American branch prevented this from happening.

 

DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS
(98) A sequel of sorts to Dragon Quest VI, Dragon Quest Monsters. The game starts off with Terry trying to put his sister, Mileyu, to sleep, when all of a sudden the sister is kidnapped by a monster into another world. Terry rushes after her and ends up in this strange mystical world. He is found by an old man who guides him to the kings castle where he is told to recruit a slime on his journey. The player can know lead Terry and the Slime outside of the castle and into the outworld, where you can fight, and recruit another monsters. After defeating a monster or monsters, the player is given a chance to recruit the monster, or leave it behind. Terry can only carry along three monsters at most. If you start off with a slime, a mole, and a vampire, you can build up there levels and try to fight stronger monsters to recruit.

 

DRAGON QUEST I & II REMIX
(93) The original two Dragon Quest games, upgraded to 16 bit and taking full advantage of the Super Famicom, restored the games that kicked the series off to new greatness.

 

 

DRAGON QUEST III REMIX
(96) A restoration and upgrade of Dragon Quest III, a game considered by many in Japan to be the best of the series, the Dragon Quest III Remix actually featured superior graphics to Dragon Quest VI.

 

 

TORNECO NO DAIBOUKEN (TALOONS QUEST)
(93) A sequel of sorts to Dragon Warrior/Quest IV, Torneco No Daibouken continued the adventures of Taloon the merchant.
